Current Projects:
I am an Iranian-Canadian living in Vancouver, British Columbia. My passions include mathematics, music, politics, and traveling.
Currently, I’m a postdoctoral fellow at the University of British Columbia. My main research interest is applications of algebraic geometry to representation theory of finite and p-adic groups, especially the geometric Langlands program.
Together with fellow musicians, we established the UBC Persian Music Ensemblein January 2009. We have had several concert, including one on November 5, 2009 in the UBC Music Department Recital Hall.
My Family:
My sister, Maryam, is a PhD candidate in Elecetrical Engineering at the University of California at Berkeley. She plays the Piano and the Setar.
My dad, Ahmad, is a neurosurgeon at the University of Shiraz. My mom, Mahroo, is a retired AIDS researcher.
